The Midlands Latino Community Development Corporation (MLCDC) expands the range of online courses for Latinos who want to continue to explore the business world during this pandemic period.
This Saturday, April 18th, it will begin with the course «How to Start a Successful Business», 1:00 p.m. at 3:30 p.m. and it will be for 5 Saturdays. This course has an investment of $ 50. To attend this course you must register at this link, or send a text message to (402) 644-1944. Once enrolled you will be given instructions and go over what will be covered in the course.
Classes are taught through the Zoom video calling platform, so if you don’t have it installed on your phone or computer you can download it here. This training is sponsored by U.S. Bank.

Other Saturday courses

The MLCDC also transferred its courses to virtual classes that can be accessed through its website to register for the following courses that will also be held on Saturdays, according to an email by Juan Montoya, Interim Executive Director of the organization.

  • 9:00 am. «Budgeting» (every Saturday in April. Classes will begin in English and Arabic for refugees on Saturday, April 25)
  • 10:00 a.m. «Loans and Credits» (every Saturday)

Entrepreneurs May

According to the MLCDC Facebook page, «Training Entrepreneurs» classes open in May (Could start on May 9th) , a program focused on developing the potential of Latina women as leaders to obtain a sustainable financial future.
Part of the training is learning about the types of insurance needed for family and business. Silvia Sotendo-Zepeda, Financial Services Agent at Farm Bureau, will participate in the classes as a counselor.
