The non-profit organizations A Light for Omaha, Young Progressives of Nebraska and ProBlac have gathered forces to sponsor an educational protest about the Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) at Douglas County Courthouse this Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 6pm.
According to an Instagram post from ProBlac, the protest in fat is a call for “the abolition of ICE and inform Omaha citizens about family separations cases at the border”, said the information. The protest will be an educational one meant to unite the community through awareness of what they consider to be a prominent social issue.
Protest sponsors require that participants wear masks and abide by Omaha traffic laws. Water, masks and informative pamphlets will be provided. Guest speakers and personal stories will be presented. This is a family-friendly event. Douglas County Courthouse is located at 1701 Farnam Street.
