If you are looking for a fun and educational way to celebrate diversity and culture, you might want to check out the International Fair at Metropolitan Community College (MCC) –South Omaha campus– on April 13. The fair is free and open to the public, so you can bring your family and friends along.

This annual event showcases the rich and varied traditions of different countries and regions through music, dance, art, food and more.

The fair will kick off with a USCIS Naturalization Ceremony, where new U.S. citizens will take their oath of allegiance and receive their certificates. This is a special moment for the new Americans and their families, as well as an opportunity for the audience to witness the diversity and strength of our nation.

Also, it will feature performances by local and regional artists who represent various cultural backgrounds and styles. You can enjoy the sounds of African drums, Irish fiddles, Latin rhythms, Native American flutes and more. You can also watch dancers perform traditional and contemporary moves from India, China, Mexico, Brazil and other countries. There will be something for everyone to enjoy and appreciate.

As well families can learn more about different cultures and regions, artifacts, costumes, maps, flags and other items that showcase the history and heritage of different peoples.

Everybody will have the opportunity to interact with representatives from area organizations that promote cultural awareness and exchange.

The International Fair is a great way to celebrate the diversity and richness of our world and it is also a chance to learn from each other and appreciate our differences and similarities. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the beauty and joy of different cultures at MCC.
