great selection of margaritas and sipping tequilas to enjoy. The evening includes a special 5 course

WAW:Wellness for Artists

Wellness is a concept that can easily elude busy artists. A thriving career sometimes means
allocating energy, attention, and time to aspects of your creative practice at the expense of caring for
your biggest asset—your personal well being. Join artist, educator, and wellness expert Abby Queal
for a WAW session dedicated to practical ways to manage stress, find a balance between life and
work, and incorporate mindfulness practices into your everyday routine. WAW is a year-round series
of professional development opportunities that focuses on learning practical skills, designed to help
Omaha area artists cultivate or refresh the professional aspects of their creative practice. Each
session is devoted to one topic led by professionals in the field and expert community partners.
Participants will create robust networks of peers and professional contacts alongside these
opportunities to self-evaluate and learn from others’ experiences. Every session/workshop is free
and open to the public. OCI cannot offer childcare services, but parents you are more than welcome
to bring your children if childcare is not available to you. The WAW Series is sponsored in part by the
Peter Kiewit Foundation.
